Your average weekend in Glasgow is a hotbed of new music, great artist and vibrant, sweaty venues. Every so often, on those extra-special weekends, events pop up which offer punters the opportunity to see great artists for the benefit of a great cause. This Saturday, WERK will be doing just that. The promoters promise to deliver a night of “full body dance rhythms”, and the full price of every ticket sold will go directly towards Orkidstudio’s Nakuru Project in Kenya.

Founded in 2008, Orkidstudio is a non-profit humanitarian architecture charity, whose aim is to benefit disadvantaged children and young people worldwide through innovative design and construction. Their Nakuru Project will provide new built facilities for a children’s home in Kenya - which supports many underprivileged, orphaned or abandoned children. The full price of every ticket sold for this night will go directly towards giving these children a safe and lasting home.

The highly acclaimed Romare will be headlining the night, straight off the back of his recent signing to Ninja Tune for his upcoming debut album. Heavily inspired by the art of American collagist Romare Bearden, the producer has garnered fierce support from the likes of Benji B, Giles Peterson, Huw Stephens and Bonobo.

Providing support on the night will be Glasgow based trio Ghana Soundz alongside a live performance from Ayawara.
