This year, Philanthrobeats are launching our Music Class project, where we will be offering one to one music classes for asylum seeker and refugee children. With these classes we will be giving children from often vulnerable backgrounds the chance to learn a musical instrument – a life skill which we consider invaluable.

In order to do so, we are looking for some enthusiastic, talented and committed volunteers who play an instrument and wish to share their skill as a teacher in one of our classes.

PVG dependent, the volunteer would conduct the class from their home (or another venue of their choice). Philanthrobeats will provide an instrument and materials for the pupil. The volunteer will receive some basic teacher training, but will be expected to have their own instrument. We are looking for a minimum 6 month commitment, although we hope to expand and continue the project in the future.

Applicants should be available for interview in Glasgow or by Skype from the week beginning Monday 21st July.

Applications are now closed. Further updates will be available soon.
