Floyd has been with PB since the second event where she helped curate the event with the lineup of Fortywinks and Tuscan Whale, Benny Boom and Chungo Bungo, and Floyd herself b2b with Noface. Since then she has been involved in a variety of aspects of the PB operation, including filming and editing the footage from various nights as well as the documentary about safer clubbing.

Floyd’s interest is mostly in house music when DJing but finds that her love for Soul, Funk, RnB, Jazz, Hip-Hop, World, Electronica all seep into her sets. She has been resident for CMYK at Sub Club, Subfriction at Club 520 and is still widely known for her b2b’s with Noface. Recently, she has played for Birdcage at Broadcast and for Rumours at Flat 0/1.

Currently, Floyd is developing a sync licensing agency with current employer Inner Ear to represent a roster of artists and their music for TV and Film and most of her days are spent working on audio production. She aspires to work in US National Public Radio.

Tuscan Whale is an audio enthusiast whohas worked with PB for over three years releasing music, DJ-ing and helping with production for live events. TW has played at several of PB’s events from the very beginnings to its most recent nights and Subcity radio shows. TW uses a variety of media and he has had a string of releases on indie Hip-Hop outfits Handpicked and Millennium Jazz Music as well as having a track on the first PB EP. While bombing the scene with regular live performances around the UK his focus remains on the craft.

Affiliated also to Frogbeats and Handpicked, TW has cast a wide net over the Glasgow clubbing scene regularly playing across the city. You can also catch Tuscan Whale at The Arlington Bar as well as at Broadcast delving into his Hip-Hop, Trip-Hop, and funky collection.

Tarantism Logo - Jake4b

Tarantism have been been DJing and polluting student radio air-waves with their awful chat since 2009. Having been involved in a number of projects from Subcity Radio to Philanthrobeats, they have established themselves as general music enthusiasts rather than purveyors of any particular genre.

Tarantism have been part of the Philanthrobeats resident roster since the humble beginnings… in fact, one could argue from before the beginnings, as they played alongside local DJs HaHaHa and Djamba in Stereo at the one-off Amnesty International fundraiser that would go on to become the first of many Philanthrobeats club promotions.

Taking influence from the likes of DJ Alfredo, Giles Pieterson, Rob da Bank and – of course – homegrown legends Optimo and Hushpuppy, Tarantism can always guarantee an interesting approach to mixing music, dipping into dance, rock, hip hop and maybe even some French electronica made entirely from toothbrush samples.

Janneman’s interests focus chiefly on and between Techno and House, with an emphasis on Soulful House for the latter. His love for Blawan’s live sets and those of Chris Liebing and DJ Rush from the 2000s can be sensed in his regular 130+bpm Techno sets which he thinks delivers so much energy for the party. Janneman is driven by the vast history of music he has yet to discover and the novel production that continuously emerges, opting always for the forward-thinking, no-breaks-applied selections.

Janneman has been with PB since 2012 and played for a number of PB nights, pre-parties as well as being involved with several of PB’s Subcity radio shows.

MLW has been with PB since late 2012 and first played for PB alongside Calum Lindsay (Rubix) after their collaboration at the now infamous Chippy afterparty. As well as being one of the residents, MLW is also co-host/DJ for PB’s Subcity radio show, and is a Philanthrobeats board member.

Mostly driven by Techno, MLW has been profoundly influenced by the likes of Robert Hood, Ben Klock, Karenn, and Dave Clarke to name but a few. Though, for the past few years’ his sets have frequently consisted in more house party vibes with Disco, Funk, and World selections dominating. This is consolidated by his weekly residency at The Arlington Bar where you can catch him on Saturday nights.

Aside from Philanthrobeats, MLW has also played for Frogbeats, Ezup, and Sub Club-organised Candleriggs Square Referendum Party and the Sub Hub.
